St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Slidell man following an early morning robbery at a Slidell-area gas station.

Shortly after 2 a.m.  Friday (Dec. 8) Leval Butler (DOB 3/6/1982; 59511 Javery Road, Slidell) entered the Shell station on Highway 11, wearing a mask over his face. While threatening the clerk’s life, Butler removed an undisclosed amount of money from the register and fled on foot.

Responding deputies quickly established a perimeter and located Butler nearby with the stolen cash still on his person. He was taken into custody.

Prior to being booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail for LRS 14:65 Simple Robbery, Butler resisted deputies, breaking a pair of handcuffs in the process.
