The St. Tammany Correctional Facility does not write bonds for other agencies.

72-Hour Hearings

72-hour hearing days are subject to change due to holidays and the court house schedule. 72-hour hearing bond changes are usually not available until after 1 pm on the days they are conducted.

Release dates

St. Tammany Parish Correctional Facility does not give out release dates to the public, only to the offenders.  The offenders can write to the bond office via the kiosk machine in the housing unit to receive their Parish Jail release date. We cannot guarantee the offender will be released at exactly 12:01am, it may be any time between 12:01am and 11:59pm.

Bond Type Information

Bond Fees:

  • Bondsman- 2% of the bond amount
  • $30.00 bond processing fee for each bond written
  • Court cost attachment- $268.00 must be paid in full
  • There is a 2.5 % fee for Credit Card transaction.
  • We do accept Discover Credit Cards as a form of payment.
  •  We do not accept the LA wallet as a form of Identification.
  • If paying with cash you need exact change

Cash Bond: If you are posting a cash bond you will need the full amount plus a $30 bond fee.

You may be eligible to receive a refund on the cash bond for the money the court doesn’t deem necessary for court costs and fees when the court case is completely disposed of.

The steps to get your cash back on a cash bond:

  • Get a certified copy of the minutes for the court case at the clerk of courts office.
  • Take the minutes and bond receipt to Tickets and Fines in the court house.
  • They will start the process of the refund for the cash bond.
  •  It may take up to six weeks for the process and refund to be completed.

Property Bond: If you are using Property, you will need property with the full amount of your bond fee and clear in equity with a $30.00 bond fee.

Bondsman List

If you are using a Surety/ Bondsman, they usually charge between 10% and 14 % of the bond amount that needs to be posted.

Bondman’s/Bounty Hunters must have a Department of Insurance card to complete a Surrender of Defendant at St. Tammany Parish Correctional Facility.

Surrenders can be completed by any surety (bondsman or personal surety), but only when the offender is in our custody currently or if the person out on bond has agreed for the surety to return them to our custody.

Personal Surety Bond: You will need a valid Louisiana driver’s license and $30 cash to sign and post the bond. By signing a personal surety bond, you are taking legal responsibility to ensure the offender is present at all court dates associated with the bonds posted. If the offender misses any court date in that case you may be held responsible for the entire amount of the bond. 

You may not be eligible to sign a personal surety /signature bond:

  • If you have any open wants or warrants
  • If you are not 21 years of age
  • If you work for are affiliated with Law Enforcement, the Judicial system, or an Attorney
  • If you are out on bond, probation or parole
