STPSO Receives Homeland Security Grant

Mother Arrested After Daughter Brings THC Edibles to School

A Covington-area woman was arrested Tuesday (Sept. 10) after her 11-year-old daughter brought THC-laced edibles to school and shared them with her classmates. A St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputy assigned as a resource officer at a Mandeville-area school alerted detectives after a student had a reaction to a gummy candy she was given by a classmate. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a federal law enforcement agent and former STPSO employee Monday (Sept. 16) for defamation. Jerry Rogers Jr. (DOB 11/3/1972) was arrested after it was discovered he sent numerous emails which included false information in relation to an open investigation.  Rogers used a fake name to create an email account and then sent messages to the family members of a victim.  The emails contained…

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Slidell-area man Wednesday (Sept. 18) after an altercation between two shrimp boat captains. Arrests Made in Animal Cruelty Case

Three individuals are facing animal cruelty charges in connection with an abandoned dachshund, who was found last week in a Slidell-area mobile home park with its hind legs removed. A local resident contacted the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office on Sept. 25 after a local animal rescue group obtained a dog, which had appeared to have had its two hind legs sawed off.
