Karneilius Coleman (DOB 3/4/2003) of New Orleans was arrested Friday (March 31) in the New Orleans area with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Apprehension Task Force and ATF.

He was booked into the Orleans Parish Prison Friday afternoon as a fugitive on a warrant issued by Kenner Police for an unrelated crime. A hold was placed on him Friday evening by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for one count of Second-degree Murder.

That warrant was issued in connection with the fatal shooting which occurred March 18 on Brittany Drive in the Briar Lake area of Lacombe. ATF assisted St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office in the investigation that resulted in the warrant for Coleman’s arrest.

Sheriff Randy Smith would like to thank the Marshal’s Service, ATF and the detectives with the STPSO Majors Crimes Unit for the work they did to secure an arrest in this case.
