A St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office detective, who is assigned to the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Apprehension Task Force, assisted Friday morning (August 31) in the apprehension of a man wanted in connection with a Pasadena, Texas murder.

The arrested subject, Silvano Echavarria, was wanted for the beating death of an elderly man which occurred outside a Pasadena apartment complex earlier this month.

Members of the Task Force made contact with Echavarria shortly before 7:30 a.m. Friday at a Lacombe-area residence, where he was taken into custody by the STPSO detective and fellow task force members.

Echavarria was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail as a fugitive out of Harris County, Texas.
