The Proactive Enforcement Unit with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Narcotics Division continues its work to combat illegal drug sales with increased patrols and investigative efforts in the known crime areas of the parish. Sheriff Randy Smith is pleased to announce these efforts are paying off with arrests.
At approximately 3:20 p.m. Friday (March 10), detectives with the STPSO Proactive Enforcement Unit were patrolling the area of Alton near Slidell. During that patrol, detectives conducted a traffic stop on a silver Dodge Caravan.
An occupant of the vehicle, Kelroy Robertson (DOB 9/24/1988) of Slidell, was found to be in possession of approximately 3.9 grams of crack/cocaine, approximately 3.6 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 0.8 grams of Fentanyl, approximately 4.1 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Kelroy attempted to flee from detectives during the stop but was taken into custody. He was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center for L.R.S. 40:967A Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (crack/cocaine), L.R.S. 40:967A Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (methamphetamine), L.R.S. 40:967A Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (fentanyl), L.R.S. 40:966C Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (marijuana), L.R.S. 40:1023 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, L.R.S. 14:108 Resisting an Officer and L.R.S. 32:300 Open Container.
At approximately 8:15 p.m. Monday (March 13), detectives with the STPSO Proactive Enforcement Unit were patrolling in the Pearl River area when they initiated a traffic stop on a gold Nissan Pathfinder after the driver failed to signal for a right turn. The Pathfinder was also observed to have a switched license plate.
The vehicle drove into a driveway in the 67000 block of Jack Crawford Road and the vehicle’s passenger, Brandon Williams (DOB 3/08/1978), was observed discarding what was later determined to be a clear plastic wrapper containing approximately 4.8 grams of a green rock-like substance suspected to be fentanyl.
Williams was also found to be in possession of a hypodermic syringe believed to be used to inject illegal drugs.
A search warrant was executed on the residence, which is where both Williams and the driver of the Pathfinder, Justin Crowe (DOB 9/27/1991), reportedly resided.
The search yielded approximately 7.25 grams of methamphetamine, an additional 1.38 grams of the same green rock-like substance suspected to be fentanyl, 18 grams of marijuana, hundreds of used hypodermic syringes, glass smoking pipes, multiple digital scales and yet to be determined amount of property suspected of being stolen and used for payment in the illegal drug trade.
Crowe was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center for L.R.S. 40:966C Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (marijuana), L.R.S. 40:967C Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (fentanyl), L.R.S. 40:967C Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (methamphetamine), L.R.S. 40:1023 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, L.R.S. 32:104 Failure to Signal, L.R.S. 47:536 Switched License Plate, L.R.S. 47:501 Failure to Register a Vehicle and L.R.S. 32:865 Criminal Sanctions for no Vehicle Insurance.
Crowe was also arrested for two outstanding attachments related to refusal to identify and theft under $1000 third or subsequent offense.
Brandon Lee Williams was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center for L.R.S. 40:966C Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (marijuana), L.R.S. 40:967C Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (fentanyl), L.R.S. 40:967C Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (methamphetamine), L.R.S. 14:130.1 Obstruction of Justice and L.R.S. 40:1023 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
“Our deputies and detectives will continue to proactively patrol the areas of our parish where drug use and sales are known to occur, and those individuals found to be selling or in possession of illegal narcotics will be arrested,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “I have no tolerance for individuals who are bringing these dangerous drugs into our communities.”
