The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men in connection with a shooting that occurred
Saturday (February 1) night near Slidell.
Montreal Delaney (DOB 8/24/2000) has been arrested on the charges of L.R.S. 14:30.1 Second Degree Murder and L.R.S. 14:95.7 Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number. Ferdinand Everidge (DOB 12/5/2000) has been arrested on the charges of L.R.S. 14:64.3 Attempted Armed Robbery and L.R.S. 14:37.4 Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.
The initial investigation into the incident, revealed Delaney went to the location with the intent of selling illegal narcotics to the victim. Once at the location, the victim and Everidge attempted to rob Delaney and an altercation ensued, during which time Delaney and Everidge both fired weapons, and the victim was struck. All parties involved are from the Slidell area.
Delaney and Everidge have both been booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
The remains of the deceased have been turned over to the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office, who will make identification, notify next of kin and determine the official cause and manner of death.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information is available at this time.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently working a homicide that occurred tonight (February 1) in the Slidell area.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m., STPSO deputies were dispatched to the 37000 block of Jones Road in Slidell in reference to a shooting.
One individual was transported via ambulance to a local area hospital, where he has since succumbed to his injuries.
A suspect is in custody and being questioned at this time.
