Sheriff Randy Smith is pleased to announce the Government Finance Officers Association has presented the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office with the Certificate of Achievement for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2021.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management
The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
“The preparation of the ACFR could not have been possible without the skillful efforts of the Finance Department’s accounting staff, as well as many additional members of the St Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office,” Sheriff Smith said.
“Controller Cynthia Bankston and the entire finance staff worked tirelessly to prepare this document, and I am pleased their hard work is being recognized with this prestigious award from an internationally recognized organization. This award is a true testament to our finance department’s daily determination to serve the residents of St. Tammany in the most diligent, professional, and transparent manner possible,” he added.
