Requesting and obtaining public records from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office has been made easier, thanks to a new web-based solution that Sheriff Randy Smith launched today.

The new web-based public records software, powered by GovQA, provides the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office the ability to receive and respond to public records requests in a much more efficient manner.

The public can now request, issue payment and receive copies of public records through the secure online system.

Payments are made through the same online portal by a fully integrated credit/debit card processing system.

This all-in-one platform offers an additional feature which allows legal counsel the ability to upload courtesy copies of witness and record subpoenas filed with the Clerk of Court for issuance upon the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.  Although this process does not constitute formal service, it will expedite notice, initiate processing and reduce production delays.

“I understand the fundamental shifts and technology trends that are reshaping citizen-government interactions,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “Our agency is employing modern technology to connect with our citizens, improve efficiency and lower costs – all while maintaining transparency in government that our residents expect and deserve.”
