Early Saturday morning, two deputies with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office Marine Division were dispatched to the area of Lake Pontchartrain and Cane Bayou in reference to a vessel taking on water.

Deputies responded to the area and located a partially submerged 14-foot flat boat on the shoreline approximately a mile and a half east of Cane Bayou.

They came into contact with at 17-year-old from Mandeville, an 18-year-old from Abita Springs and an 18-year-old from Mandeville who stated they launch their vessel at Cane Bayou boat launch.

The three subjects stated they left their vessel along the shoreline while they set up their duck decoys, and shortly after noticed their vessel had begun to take on water. Due to rough water conditions, water was entering their vessel faster than it could be removed.

Deputies loaded the subjects onto a Sheriff's Office flat boat and safely relocated them to the Mandeville Harbor without injury.
