***UPDATE***
As a result of the investigation conducted today in Alton, the following people were arrested and will be booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center.
The attached picture is the result of a search warrant conducted after a residence was identified as the location from which the shooting occurred. All subjects listed below were in the residence upon St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s detectives’ arrival, along with four juvenile children.
Dequan Moore admitted to the shooting at the vehicle and advised it was because he thought someone may have fired at him, which was proven to not be the case. The victim in the case was simply delivering food to a separate residence, was alone at the time and had no previous interaction with anyone involved.

“I want to thank the patrol deputies who responded to the initial call and the detectives with our Major Crimes Division who worked hard this afternoon and evening,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “They not only quickly identified the individual who fired the shots, but also made several related arrests after discovering a residence where children were found to be living with illegal narcotics and dangerous firearms left easily accessible and within their reach.”

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently working a shooting incident, which occurred Tuesday (May 24) afternoon in the Alton community near Slidell.
Shortly after 2:30 p.m., STPSO deputies were dispatched to the 37000 block of North Third Street in reference to a vehicle being struck by gunfire.
No one was injured, and the incident is still under investigation.
