During a two week block in November, the St. Tammany Parish Narcotics Task Force, which is made up of St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives and officers from the Slidell and Mandeville Police Departments, executed seven search warrants, arresting eleven individuals and issuing summons to six more. Among those arrested were members of a family drug dealing operation on the east side of the parish.

72383 Violet Street, Covington

On November 10, 2014 the Task Force executed a search warrant at 72383 Violet St. in Covington. Upon arrival at the residence, Eugene Honora Jr., fled in a vehicle but was arrested shortly thereafter.

Eugene Honora Jr. (DOB 9/21/1980) was arrested on the following charges:

LRS 14:108.1 Aggravated Flight

LRS 40:967 A/C Possession With Intent to Distribute Cocaine

LRS 40:966 Simple Possession of Marijuana. 

Honora was out of jail on parole at the time of his arrest.

 

828 W28th Avenue, Covington

On Thursday, November 13, 2014, the Task Force executed a search warrant at 828 West 28th Avenue in Covington

Timothy Bedford (DOB 8/13/1975) was arrested on the following charges:

LRS 40:967C Possession of Schedule II, Cocaine

LRS 40:130.1 Obstruction of Justice

LRS 40:966 Possession of Marijuana

LRS 40:1023 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Barron Magee (DOB 9/18/1960) was arrested on the following charge:

LRS 40:966 Possession of Marijuana

Bedford has a lengthy criminal history of drug charges and was out of jail on parole at the time of arrest.

 

601 N. Claiborne Street, Covington

 On Wednesday, November 19, 2014, narcotics agents conducted a state search warrant at 601 North Claiborne Street in Covington as part of a month-long narcotics investigation, which originated with information gathered from the Covington Police Department. Pursuant to the search warrant, Freddie Marigny and Cheryl Sneeze were found to be in possession of approximately a half pound of suspected marijuana. Approximately $750 was also seized from the home.

The following individuals were issued summons for LRS 40:966 Possession of a Schedule 1 CDS - Marijuana after they were found sitting at a dinner table smoking the drug when members of the task force entered the home.

While conducting the search warrant at the residence the following individuals were issued summons when they arrived to purchase marijuana from the residence.

On November 21, 2014, the Task Force executed four search warrants in Slidell, utilizing the Sheriff’s office SWAT team on two of them.  In addition, the task force was assisted by members from Homeland Security and the Drug Enforcement Agency. These searches resulted in the dismantling of the Thompson family drug dealing operation.

 

36303 Browns Village Road, Slidell

On Friday, November 21, 2014, after conducting a lengthy investigation and making several undercover purchases, the Task Force executed a search warrant at 36303 Browns Village Road Slidell.

Bernard Evans (DOB 12/18/1963) was arrested on the following charges:

LRS 40:1023 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Catherine Swanson (DOB 3/3/1985) was arrested on the following charges:

LRS 40:966E2 Possession of Marijuana 2nd Offense

LRS 40:1023 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Charmaine Anderson was arrested on the following charges:

37230 W. Pinehill, Slidell

On Friday, November 21, 2014, after conducting a lengthy investigation and making several undercover purchases, detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at 37230 W Pinehill, Slidell, seizing approximately seven grams of cocaine, a gun, materials for producing crack cocaine, marijuana, pills, and drug paraphernalia.

Sharnel Donaldson (DOB12/14/1981) was arrested on the following charges:

LRS 40:966E Simple Possession of Schedule I CDS, Marijuana

LRS 40:1023, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

 

313 Tumblebrook Street, Slidell

At approximately 6 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office SWAT team executed a search warrant at Marcel Thompson’s residence at 313 Tumblebrook Street in Slidell.  As a result of this search, a .45 caliber handgun as well as approximately 1 ounce of marijuana was recovered.

Sanita Thomas (DOB 1/16/1986) was arrested and released via summons for possession of marijuana

 

36271 Edwards Street   Slidell

On Friday, November 21, 2014, the SWAT team also executed a search warrant at 36271 Edwards Street in Slidell. Pursuant to this search, approximately 18 grams of cocaine, packaging materials, a scale and a stolen revolver were recovered.  While team members were executing this search warrant, Marcel Thompson arrived on scene and claimed possession of the firearm, which had been recovered from the Tumblebrook residence, as well as the cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The investigation is ongoing into the stolen firearm.

Marcel Thompson has an extensive criminal history including possession of stolen property, armed robbery, aggravated battery, resisting an officer, aggravated rape and drug distribution. He is a convicted felon, and he has pled guilty to crimes such as aggravated battery, unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling, possession of stolen property and drug law violations.

 

“The work of the St. Tammany Narcotics Task Force in these cases will take more than a dozen dangerous drug dealers off the streets of our parish.  Combined efforts such as these are an indication of how well law enforcement throughout St. Tammany works together for the protection of our citizens,” Sheriff Jack Strain said.
