Keith Cotton (DOB 10/6/2003) is in custody after turning himself in Monday (September 12) morning. He will be booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on one count of Attempted Second-degree Murder.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a Slidell man who is wanted following a shooting which occurred Thursday (Sept. 8) night in the Kingspoint area near Slidell.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. Thursday, STPSO deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Brookter Street and Nottingham Lane in reference to a shooting.

One victim had been transported to a local hospital via a witness prior to deputies’ arrival.  He sustained what is believed to be non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Through their investigation, STPSO detectives have learned the man was shot by 18-year-old Keith Cotton after the man approached Cotton’s vehicle, which was parked with Cotton and the victim’s girlfriend inside.

A warrant was issued for Cotton’s arrest for one count of Attempted Second-degree Murder. He remains at large. Anyone with information about Cotton’s whereabouts is asked to call the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 898-2338 or 911.
