St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Denham Springs man after he fired a weapon from a moving vehicle on Saturday. 

At approximately 1:00 p.m. (Dec. 29) St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies received a complaint of an individual driving a red, Toyota pickup truck observed discharging multiple rounds from a firearm, into the air, while driving east along Interstate 12 near Covington. 

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies quickly intercepted the suspect vehicle after it exited I-12 and headed north onto Hwy. 190 in Covington.  A traffic stop was made in the area of 1100 N. Hwy. 190 and contact was made with the driver, later identified as Brandon Langlois (DOB 04/29/1985), of Denham Springs, LA. 

Pursuant to the investigation, deputies were able to recover a .45 caliber handgun as well as two spent .45 caliber casings. Langlois was taken into custody without incident and transported to the St. Tammany Parish Jail where he was booked on the following charge:

“Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of this suspected road rage incident.  I’m extremely pleased with the quick response by our deputies and grateful to our citizen(s) who provided details about the suspect vehicle which ultimately led to the arrest of this dangerous individual,” said Sheriff Randy Smith.
