Detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s office have arrested a Lacombe area handyman for the burglary of two residences where he had previously performed work.

Louis Angel Castro (26184 E. Chestnut, Lacombe – DOB: 3/20/1975) was arrested yesterday and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail for two counts of L.R.S. 14:62.2 – simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.

Castro was identified as a possible suspect in a burglary on E. Chestnut St. in Lacombe and another in the Coin du Lestin subdivision near Slidell.  Detectives found Castro near his home yesterday and, when questioned, he admitted to the burglaries.

Castro worked as a handyman and performed lawn care at residences throughout the parish and detectives suspect he might have burglarized other former clients.  The types of items he stole from the two known burglaries include jewelry, watches, firearms, and household electronics.

Anyone who hired this individual and noticed property missing from their residence is asked to call Detective Sergeant Brian Beech at 985-726-7850.
