Six people have now been arrested and detectives are in the process of executing the arrests on three others in connection with a drug-deal-turned-shooting in Oak Harbor near Slidell early Wednesday.

The individuals involved are:

John Burdine (DOB: 7/11/91 – 337 Cape Breton Dr, Slidell)

Byron Davis (received gunshot wounds) (DOB: 6/13/88 – Folsom)

Hailey Gill (DOB: 6/17/94 – 304 E Hornsby St, Covington)

Philip Kitchen (DOB: 6/2/92 – 2114 Park Dr, Slidell)

Jimmy Coyne (DOB: 1/17/91 – 300 Stonehill Rd, Folsom)

Kelsey Schoenbeger (DOB: 12/19/95 – 28484 Wildwood St, Lacombe)

Donice Garrett (DOB: 1/7/91 – 84158 Hwy 25, Folsom)

Jonathan Vines (DOB: 11/18/90 – 3350 Blanco St, Slidell)

Terry M. Hall, Jr (DOB: 7/3/90 – 6220 Pasteur Blvd, New Orleans)

The Sheriff’s office received a 911 call at approximately 12:30 am Wednesday morning reporting gun shots outside Burdine’s residence on Cape Breton Drive.  (The residence is owned by Burdine’s parents; they are not believed to be involved in the incident).

Sheriff’s office patrol deputies immediately responded to the area and located a vehicle attempting to leave the Mooring subdivision.  The vehicle was occupied by four of the individuals involved in the incident.

Throughout the day Wednesday, detectives were able to locate the remaining individuals involved and bring them to the Sheriff’s complex in Slidell for questioning.  In cooperation with the New Orleans Police Department, St. Tammany detectives located Hall Wednesday evening at his residence in New Orleans.  He will be booked in Orleans Parish on various weapons and drug charges before being brought to St. Tammany to be booked on charges related to this incident.

Statements made during questioning indicate that Vines, Hall, Burdine, Gill, Schoenbeger, and Kitchen were at the residence on Cape Breton.  Vines and Hall were there to supply marijuana to the others.  Arrangements were made for Coyne, Garrett and Davis to come to the house, also for the purpose of buying marijuana.

Schoenbeger met the three outside the subdivision and brought them to the residence.  When they arrived, Coyne met with Vines to complete the drug deal.  Instead of money, Coyne produced a weapon and stole the drugs from Vines.  A struggle over the weapon resulted in Vines possessing the handgun.  Davis then exited the vehicle with his own weapon and was subsequently shot by Vines (with Coyne’s gun).  Hall then entered the fray and shot Davis as well.

Coyne, Garrett, Davis and Schoenbeger then fled the scene in their vehicle.  The four were stopped by Sheriff’s deputies before they made their way out of the subdivision.  Hall separately entered his vehicle and also drove away from the residence.

Davis was transported to a south shore hospital where he underwent surgery yesterday morning for injuries sustained to his abdomen and buttocks.  He is expected to be released in the next few days.  Davis will be booked with the offenses enumerated below upon his release from the hospital.  (Davis’ gun had been reported stolen out of Covington).
