St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s office detectives have arrested a Covington-area man for raping a mentally challenged woman at a local horse farm, and they are now looking for other possible victims.

Vincent Datrio (DOB 6/13/1964; 77606 Hwy 21, Covington) is the owner of Parkview Farms, a horse farm on Hwy 21 near Covington, which allows mentally handicapped and emotionally distressed individuals use the facility and ride the horses there in exchange for them doing work around the farm.

On Sept. 29, a 21-year-old mentally handicapped woman was at the facility when Datrio lead her to an office on the property, where he proceeded to rape her.

Because of the victim’s mental capacity, Datrio was arrested for L.R.S. 14:42 – Aggravated Rape, and was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail. He is being held on a $200,000 bond.

Detectives believe Datrio may have victimized others at the farm.

Anyone who thinks they may know a victim or may be a victim of Datrio, is asked to call Detective Justin Parker at 985-726-7852.
