A local man has been arrested following a shooting incident which occurred Tuesday (August 23) evening at a Mandeville-area residence.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Meade Court in reference to a shooting.

STPSO detectives learned Logan Maxted (DOB 2/6/2002) shot a man multiple times following a verbal altercation at Maxted’s residence. Detectives also learned that Maxted went to the victim’s residence earlier that same day and made threats against the victim’s juvenile family member.

At some point during the verbal altercation at Maxted’s residence, Maxted produced a firearm and shot the victim multiple times.

Prior to deputies’ arrival, a family member transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.

Through their investigation, detectives determined Maxted’s life was not in danger and in no way was he acting in self-defense when he fired upon the victim. Subsequently, he was arrested for Aggravated Battery and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center
