UPDATE:  Shortly before 4:00 P.M. June 20, double homicide suspect, Jason Magee III, was found walking out of a wooded area along Interstate 59 near Pearl River. Members of the Pearl River Police Department and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office responded, and took Magee into custody without incident. St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith says, “With help of our citizens, and other law enforcement agencies, Jason Magee is now in custody. Our prayers go out to the family members and friends of the two victims. This was a domestic violence incident, which turned deadly. It’s very tragic.”

The investigation is on-going as detectives continue to piece together the chain of events which lead to the deadly shooting.


The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s assistance in locating a man responsible for a double homicide, which occurred yesterday evening in St. Tammany Parish.

Jason Magee III (DOB: 12-26-76), is currently wanted for two counts of First Degree Murder. Yesterday evening, Magee shot his ex-wife, and her boyfriend, to death in a home near Highway 41 and Max Mercer Road in Pearl River, Louisiana. The names of the victims are not being released at this time until proper next-of-kin notifications can be made.

St. Tammany Parish deputies are currently searching for Magee, who is 6’4” tall, 300 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen driving a black 2015 GMC Sierra bearing Louisiana license plate number C311473. Authorities believe this is an isolated domestic violence incident, however, are considering Magee armed and dangerous. He could be a danger to himself and others.
