St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s detectives have arrested one man and are looking for two more following an armed robbery that occurred in Slidell last weekend.
Deputies were dispatched to the J&K Apartments on Brownsvillage Road at approximately 8:45 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 25) in response to an individual saying he had been robbed.
The Pearl River man reported that he was visiting a friend at the apartment complex when he was beaten and robbed at gunpoint by three men.
Early Sunday morning (Nov. 26), detectives obtained arrests warrants for Kendrick Wise, Malik Crawford and James Johnson for the charge of LRS 14:64.3 Armed Robbery; Use of Firearm; Additional Penalty.
At that time, they located James Johnson (DOB 11/10/1991; 60473 Palm Drive #A, Slidell) at his residence and took him into custody. While executing a search warrant at the residence, two stolen firearms were also recovered.
Johnson was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on the following charges:
L.R.S. 14:64.3 Armed Robbery; Use of Firearm, Additional Penalty
L.R.S. 14:69.1 Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms (2 counts)
L.R.S. 40:966E Possession of Marijuana
L.R.S. 40:967C Possession of Schedule II
L.R.S. 14:95E Illegal Carrying of Weapon During Crime of Violence
L.R.S. CCRP:21 Contempt of Court for Failure to Appear as a State’s Witness
Kendrick Wise (DOB 3/28/1994; 37457 E. Hillcrest Drive, Slidell) and Malik Crawford (DOB 3/14/1997; 60331 Bryan Road, Slidell) remain at large. Anyone with information about this crime or the whereabouts of Wise or Crawford is asked to call (985) 898-2338 or 911.
