K-9 Thor helped to locate a suspect wanted for forcing his way into an elderly woman’s home demanding money Wednesday night.

At approximately 11 p.m. Wednesday, Michael Dunn (DOB 6/6/1960; 22791 Hwy 40E, Bush) went to a home on Narrow Road and demanded the 87-year-old woman who lived there give him $200.

The woman told deputies Dunn had previously worked for her as a gardener, but he was no longer employed by her.

When the woman refused his request for funds, Dunn forced his way into the home, striking the elderly resident and her 66-year-old special needs son with the door.

Once inside the home, Dunn pulled the house phone from the wall and continued to demand money.

After the son provided him with $50, Dunn fled the residence on foot, and the woman called 911.
Arriving deputies set up a perimeter, and K-9 Thor and his handler were dispatched to the area.

After a brief track, K-9 Thor located Dunn hiding in a nearby wooded area approximately 250 yards from the home, but he continued to disregard deputies’ commands to quit resisting. Once handcuffed and in custody, Dunn was transported to the St. Tammany Parish Jail and booked for 14:60 Aggravated Burglary and 14:108 Resisting an Officer.
