The “victim”, the perpetrator, and a third individual all ended up behind bars Wednesday night (January 18th) after a Slidell man called to report he was robbed while purchasing drugs.
Zachary Stampley met up with Devin Pearson, in a Walmart parking lot, around 7:30 P.M. Wednesday evening with the intention of purchasing pills. The two men rode together in Pearson’s vehicle to a more private parking lot off of Airport Road in Slidell where the purchase was to take place.
Once in the secluded parking lot, Pearson provided Stampley with some Xanax pills. As Stampley was attempting to pay Pearson, Pearson pulled out a gun and robbed Stampley of his cell phone and his wallet, which contained $350. He also took back some the Xanax pills he had just sold Stampley.
As a result of the investigation, Stampley (DOB 11:26/1989; 1471 St. Ann Place, Slidell) was arrested for LRS 40:969C, Possession of Schedule IV, for the Xanax still in his possession.
A warrant was issued for Pearson’s arrest. Pearson (DOB 8/26/1997;1176 St. Anthony Drive, Slidell) was located early Thursday morning, by the St. Tammany Parish S.W.A.T. team, at his mother’s residence on Rose Meadow Loop in Slidell. Pearson was booked in to the St. Tammany Parish Jail on one count of LRS 14:64 Armed Robbery.
While executing the warrant, deputies attempted to detain a woman who would not cooperate with deputies. Alexis Parks (DOB 11/11/1997; 40661 Chinchas Creek Road, Slidell) resisted deputies and was charged with LRS 14:108.2 Resisting a Police Officer by Violence and LRS 14:34.2 Battery on a Police Officer. She was also booked in to the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith says, “As with most violent crimes, there is always a common denominator…drugs. We will continue our crackdown against narcotics here in St. Tammany Parish. Expect to see more from our narcotics task force in the months to come.”
As the investigation continues, additional charges could follow.
