St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s detectives have recovered over $16,000 worth of property, and stopped a one man burglary spree that has plagued the Slidell area since late November of 2016.

Steven Barrios (DOB 6/27/1989) is accused of burglarizing over twenty storage units and three surrounding businesses on Highway 190E in Slidell. Through an extensive investigation, detectives identified Barrios in late December.

For over a month, Barrios ravaged multiple businesses and storage units, several different times, stealing over $25,000 worth of property, and causing thousands of dollars in property damage. Barrios was stealing 4-wheelers, power tools, vehicle parts, engines, and electronics. He would then trade the stolen items for cash.

Detectives obtained arrest warrants for the arrest of Barrios, and located him last week at his grandmother’s house on Moonraker Drive in Slidell. Detectives also executed search warrants where they recovered over $16,000 worth of stolen property. Barrios was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on the following charges:

RS 14:62         Simple Burglary - 26 counts
