The Civil Division of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office processes all court papers requiring judicial service. These include service for both Criminal and Civil cases. Other duties of the Civil Division include:
- Sheriff Sales of movable and immovable property seized by court order resulting from suits filed with the Clerk of Court. These occur on Wednesdays at 10:00 am.
- The collection of all garnishment payments decreed by the courts.
The revenue generated from fees and commissions through this department assist in the daily operations of St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Department.
The Civil Division has an office staff located in the Covington Justice Center and a field staff of process servers serving the East and West sides of the parish from offices in Covington and the Sheriff’s Administration Building in Slidell.
Many enhancements have been made to our collection process in an effort to improve efficiency. These enhancements include the ability to make online payments at www.stpsopayments.com.
Weekly Sheriff Sales and general customer service needs can be handled in person Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 at our office located at:
