The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office employs 20 – 25 part time School Crossing Guards.  These civilian employees cover a total of twenty five St. Tammany Parish Schools throughout the parish.  Their duties include insuring that children safely cross over parish highways and roadways, and traffic control at the entrances and exits of these schools.
