The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Information Systems department (I.S.) supports all users and technologies utilized by the Sheriff’s Office. This department is also responsible for researching, developing, and implementing all new technologies.
The I.S. department consists of three tiers, or areas, of support: the help desk, workstation support, and operations. All calls for service coming into the help desk are routed to the appropriate person for immediate assistance. Calls for service are handled on a 24/7/365 basis.
The workstation section provides Tier-2 support to the users. It handles all user issues ranging from communication errors within one of the Sheriff’s office buildings to application / hardware support and client security.
The operations section is our Tier-3 level of support. It manages the Sheriff’s office’s massive enterprise systems, including all inter-building communications (LAN & WAN), data integrity and enterprise security.
The Information Systems department supports the Jail, 911, Criminal Patrol, Detectives, Narcotics, Juvenile, Domestic Violence, Special Operations, Property Tax, Civil, Sales Tax, Ticket Collections, Criminal Records and Administration. I.S. responds to more than 7,000 calls for service per year, supporting more than 600 users and the equipment and devices they use.
