Raymond Reggie (111 Chapel Loop, Mandeville – DOB: 9/20/1961) was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on August 28 for one count of L.R.S. 14:67(B) – theft over $500.
The Sheriff’s Office received a complaint on August 20th from Supreme Automotive Group alleging Reggie had been hired by them in 2010 to place ads for their dealerships in various media outlets throughout southeastern Louisiana. According to their complaint, the ads never appeared in print or on the air.
Investigators quickly determined that Reggie had concocted a scheme whereby he would create fraudulent invoices from the media outlets for the ads, which he never produced and which never ran. Reggie presented these invoices to Supreme Automotive for payment at their financial offices in St. Tammany Parish and deposited the checks he received from them.
To date, investigators have uncovered approximately $630,000 in fraudulently received payments.
On August 23rd, a warrant for Reggie’s arrest was obtained. Investigators had been in contact with Reggie by telephone, but he refused to see them in person. On August 28th, deputies went to Reggie’s home and arrested him without incident.
Reggie’s bond was set at $600,000. He was released on August 31st after he posted a bond in that amount.
